What is Rainbow Snippets? It’s a group of LGBT+ authors who post six sentences (or more) from a current WIP, published work or even something they’ve read that they want to rave about. Click in the rainbow to be transported to a place of wonder where you will find tasters of everything from sweet romance, to hot and steamy, to fantasy and sci fi

Before going back, to catch up with Ariel and his misadventures, I’ll give you one more snippet from my sweet YA about my favourite blind boy.

There are those who can’t see and those who don’t want to, but we’re all blind sometimes.

Ace is blind and Haze is damaged. They live in different worlds and not everyone is happy when they become boyfriends. Haze is struggling with the after effects of a traumatic event in his past that has left him at the mercy of an uncontrollable rage. When Ace’s brother steps up his campaign of torment against Ace, they’re all in danger from Haze’s outbursts, though it isn’t until things get completely out of control that the healing can really begin. But with Ace unseeing and Haze perched on the edge of a cliff, will either of them survive long enough to benefit?

This is a little over six sentences but it’s a really sweet scene where Ace is showing Haze his Braille keyboard.

I shivered once more as he leaned over my shoulder. His long supple fingers placed my hands on the keyboard and rested lightly on top of mine.

“This is ‘H’.” He gently brushed the tip of my finger over the key. “Can you feel it?”

“I… I’m not sure. What am I trying to feel?”

“Braille is written as a series of dots over a six spot grid. Every letter is represented as raised dots somewhere on that grid. ‘H’ is represented as three raised dots like a letter L at the top of the grid.”

He leaned in closer and placed his finger over mine, barely touching, rotating the tip of my finger over the key. I could feel his breath on my cheek, smell the scent of his cologne, and feel the brush of his hair against my skin. How the hell was I supposed to be able to concentrate on the keys?

“Are you feeling it?”

“Oh, yes.” Oh, God yes…yes, I’m feeling it.
