This week, I am taking a break from Ariel and giving you a taste of my YA book about Noah, my favourite amnesiac. This is because Memories of Forgotten Love is to be featured in

Noah wakes from a coma with no memory of who he is. As his memories return they become stranger and more sinister at every turn. He begins to suspect the accident in which he was injured wasn’t an accident at all, and refuses to accept what everyone is saying that he threw himself off his balcony in a suicide attempt. It just doesn’t feel like something he would do. Struggling to come to terms with the shocking story he gradually uncovers, he’s helped by his friends. Yet, his best friend, Luke is acting strangely, leaving Noah to wonder just what exactly he isn’t telling him.
In this snippet, which for once is within the limit, Noah has just remembered Luke and what his relationship really was
“You should have told me.”
“Told you what? ‘Hi, Noah, how you doing? You don’t remember any of this, but, just to add to your problems, did you know you’re gay and I’m your boyfriend and you haven’t told your parents, so you had better keep it quiet…oh and our last words were angry ones because I threatened to leave you if you didn’t tell your father and then you tried to kill yourself’.
“We were all told, in no uncertain terms, that we were not to upset you or force you to remember so what the hell was I supposed to do?”
Memories of Forgotten Love is a novella of around 50k words. It’s entered in the first week, which is novella week. My other book with Featherlight Publishing – The Face in the Window – is featured in the second week, which is novel week. I’ll treat you to a taste of Ace next week. You’ll love Ace. Everyone loves Ace.
Wow, intense scene! Poor Luke was in a no-win situation.
I feel so sorry for Luke — that must have been hell for him.
Oh my gosh! I love the premise. It reminds me a bit of a book I loved when I was a teen.
What a difficult situation for both of them here.
I just love amnesia plots! 🙂
That was intense.
Wow! Well, I guess that got it out in the open.
Oh, he gets everything out in the open 😀 In fact, two of the most endearing things about him are his honesty and lack of inhibitions
What an intense scene!
Intense scenes I can do, it’s all the rest I have trouble with 😀 I’m never going to write a book that’s all smiles and flowers – well unless the smiles are evil grins and the flowers are poisonous
